To reduce the environmental impacts associated with one of Propcom Mai-karfi'S interventions, Propcom Mai-karfi partnered

with a Roshan Renewables Technologies Ltd to replace traditional tripod firewood-fuelled cookstoves with improved firewood-fuelled clean cookstoves.

Roshan's simple but efficient design requires much less fuel and produces less smoke. The stoves were introduced to parboiling groups in Kano and Jigawa State.

During the course of the project Roshan also proposed to convert the rice husks left over from milling into briquettes to fuel the stoves.
